Starbase 400,000 Wins a Record 14th Simming Prize in a Row

STOCKHOLM–Starbase 400,000 was awarded a record 14th consecutive Prize for Simming and Online Role Playing in Memory of Seth Cotis on Tuesday.  No other person, place, or thing has won more than two prizes.

“And the winner of this year’s Simming Prize is…” Simming Prize Chairman Mike K. Bremer continued as he opened the envelope, “Starbase 400,000!”

After three full minutes of applause, Starbase 400,000 Commanding Officer Fleet Admiral Mike K. Bremer finally accepted the award from himself.  “What an honor, wow!  I’m truly humbled.  It goes without saying that Starbase 400,000 is clearly the greatest sim in the history of the universe… and maybe even beyond that.  I’m happy that my fellow judges and I were able to recognize that for a 14th time.  Thank you.”

Following accusations of nepotism, Simming Prize Administrator Chas Hammer revealed that the prize committee is considering several changes for next year’s award.  “Yeah, I can see how someone might think it’s rigged, but that’s simply not the case.  For next year, we’re looking at getting rid of nominations and voting altogether.  We’ll also rename it the Starbase 400,000 Simming Prize.  Since the prize will be automatically awarded to Starbase 400,000, no one can accuse the judges of not being impartial.”

The Simming Prize is the highest civilian honor that Mike K. Bremer can award to Starbase 400,000.
